Backerkit Pledge Manage rolled out for everyone!
– Thu, Apr 23, 2026 at 12:37:20 PM
Super short update to let you know the Pledge Manager has rolled out for everyone:
Some quick notes:
Shipping. It will not collect shipping payments until much closer to actual shipping. This is to ensure that shipping is accurate, and, more importantly, allow adjustments for a longer period of time before everything is locked down (so people don't have to reach out to me any time they want to change their add-ons or their address).
Pledge Modifications. You can add items to your pledge or modify your pledge. If there is a modification you are unable to make, you can reach out to Backerkit Support for help and they should be able to help you.
Credits. For people at the tiers that come with credit in the book, it will ask you what you want to be credited as. Since I don’t want to assume people want their real name in the book, if that is filled out, you will not be credited. You are, of course, free to use your real name or username, though use common sense—user names that are inappropriate or very long will not be accepted.
Custom Content. Folks at custom content tiers will get a special question letting them enter their idea.
Digital Downloads. I will target sometime next week for distributing the digital downloads that are already complete (PDFs and VTT versions of previous books).
Late Pledges/Pre-orders. I will be shutting down Late Pledges via Kickstarter and moving to the Backerkit Store for preorders. This shouldn’t impact folks here.
Apple Email Relays. I've seen an issue before where if you set up Kickstarter account through an Apple Account and you don't have your actual email attached to your Kickstarter account, the Pledge Manager email might not go through the relay (as it tends to discard emails that come through the relay not from what it expects). If this is the case for you, contact me via Kickstarter and I can correct your email address in Backerkit and resend the pledge manager survey.
If you do not get your survey within 24 hours, feel free to reach out to inquire! Completing the survey will be required to get your stuff!
If you see any issues, feel free to reach out to me. I’ve done the Smoke Test which means 5% have already got the survey, and fixed the only issue I encountered there, but there could be some sneaky issue I missed.
The Poll will remain open for a few more days (let’s say 4/27 at least for the exact-date-demanders). So far the results have been interesting! No spoilers until it closes though.
As always, I’m available over on Discord if you have any questions.
All the best,

Polls and Pledge Managers! Let's start sorting things out!

Hey Folks
This comes a little bit later than I expected/projected. It's not really a delay, I guess I just forgot how long Kickstarter takes to collect and payout. I had it in my head that it would take a little over a week, but it took a little over two weeks (which is apparently normal, I just forgot). Since I needed to wait for that, things took a bit longer than I had projected.
But as of this morning, the payment has cleared and so I have the list of actual backers, which means we can go ahead with Pledge Manager and Kickstarter Polls!
Regrettably, because humans, it does need to collect the email address to vote. This will be verified against the backer list to ensure folks only vote once, and not used for any other purpose (...and I assure that step is necessary people have tried to cheat every Kickstarter poll I've ever run; I suppose we can charitably say that people are passionate).
We have a huge number of options. There are a few I had to discard for various reasons, but the three main reasons were:
I combined multiple suggestions that were duplicates or pretty close together. They would have otherwise just diluted the votes for that theme.
I removed options I've already made in other books. For example, a good/common suggestion was for a Druid that wildshapes into a Tree. But I've published that, so there's not much need to write it again. I will note I removed a lot of this... go check out my previous work! I have covered many things people seem to want.
I removed a few options that I wouldn't know how to make or were just memes/jokes. I tried to be conservative here, but no, Bard: College of the Dragon Seducer did not make the list.
This will be a TWO ROUND poll, but this first poll will select 1 automatic winner: the #1 most votes will automatically win. The rest of the top ~20 will have a run off for the last two spots (since we have 3 total Kickstarter Backer's Choice subclasses).
I was going to do the Spell Themes/Feat Themes at the same time, but with ~200 options even after they were filtere/culled down, I figure it would be best to do that in another poll!
Cool art from David Roque for the book!
Pledge Manager
The Pledge Manager should go up this week. I've submitted it to Backerkit for review, they will need to approve things on their end. From there we will do the Smoke Test (~100 backers) to ensure it is working, and then it will roll out to all Backers.
For folks with custom content tiers, you will have an extra question asking you for your submission on that, which I will follow up via email with.
Stay tuned on that front, I will notify folks when the Pledge Manager has gone out to everyone (you may get it before that if you are part of the smoke test). This is where you can fix a failed payment, change your pledge, or add on additional stuff.
Once the Pledge Manager goes out, I should have the digital rewards from past Kickstarters set up in about another week (so PDFs of KCCC/KCLL/etc).
I will aim to have a Playtest Packet update in the May Update, and there we'll talk about the march of progress toward Getting The Book Done Through Monthly Updates and what to expect on that front.
As always, if you want the most play-by-play version or have any questions, I'm always available onDiscord.
All the best,

Campaign complete! Going forward, next steps and timelines
2 months ago
– Fri, Apr 03, 2026 at 05:42:26 PM
Hey Folks-
Thank you for all your support during the campaign. This is going to be a short update, I just want to give some timeline and next steps:
Pledge Manager: This is where you'll get digital rewards (some of which are already ready, some of which will become available as the project fulfils). This should take 1-2 Weeks to set up. Estimate:Let's go with the week after next.
Kickstarter Additions Polls: This is where all those ideas folks submitted get voted. These should start running next week. Estimate:Next week.
Custom Content: For folks at the custom content tiers, these should go out a little bit after pledges and collected and confirmed. You will get an email, and we'll talk via Email or Discord the details. Estimate:Next week for initial contact, weeks to months based on the idea/timeline.
That's the initial wave of tasks. Of course, there is fulfilling the campaign. In the regard, I will bring you updates each month about where we are. These will include some of the systems I haven't shown or demoed yet, some of the Kickstarter content, etc. Once the draft is complete, it will go through editing and art assets will continue to get loaded in.
And, of course, the artists will be hard at work the whole time.
The timelines for deliver of the PDF/VTT/Books were on the pledge tiers, but for folks that missed those the loose estimate is
PDF -> November 2026
VTT -> Jan 2027
Book -> May 2027
As always, these are pretty loose estimates.
If the PDF is really finished by November, I would hope the book is ready before May... but I also treat international shipping with some degree of skepticism and suspicion at this point given how much trouble can pop up in it, and it's ultimately the part of the process where I have very little impact, so I don't want to promise too much there.
As always, for folks that want more of a play-by-play, feel free to drop by the Discord. Not everything there is relevant to the Kickstarter, but I'm active there pretty much everyday.
To all the folks here—be that for the first or third time—thank you for your support. Feel free to ask any questions about the process, and I'm happy to answer.

PS: Oh, and Catlock's won, so:
170K! Final Hours! Final Stretch Goal! Final Campaign Funding Update!
– Thu, Apr 02, 2026 at 11:01:31 AM
Hey Folks-
Not much to add here beyond that we are in the final stretch now—just a few hours left! As some folks have already seen, I've updated the stretch goals. We've knocked down already and are at the threshold for the last and final stretch goal of the campaign:
As I write this, we have about 6 hours left and about $3,000 left to the goal, so we'll see if we can close the final gap.
As we've unlocked another set of spells, I'll link the suggestion forms again:
Get your last minute suggestions in now! And for folks that want to vote, remember that it'll be a vote of backers, so now is your time to ensure your voting rights by backing the campaign if you haven't already!
Speaking final gaps, in the final hours, Catlocks remain just slightly ahead of the Paladin Doggos:
I'll make another update after the campaign with some post campaign details (once the dust settles and what not), but you can expect a brief period while I get the Pledge Manager set up before we get stuff that's already set out. I would say 1-2 weeks there, but I don't have a completely locked in timeline. Could be next week, but not promising anything yet, shouldn't be long though.
From there folks can customize their pledges like usual. Once we are settled in, I will update folks every month with the progress. We will start those with updates to the Playtest Packet, and eventually the Playtest Packet will become the KCAA Draft as it gets refined toward final.
This one is for all the DMs out there, by Dungeon Loot. It has not yet funded, so they need a few extra eyes. From its creator:
The DM’s Toolbox is a 125+ page resource book made for Dungeon Masters who want to create memorable campaigns without spending hours preparing. Inside, you’ll find a collection of ready to use tools including adventure hooks, boss monsters, NPCs, traps, puzzles, and skill challenges designed to fit into any setting. The tools are all in depth, not just random tables with one line descriptions.
Alongside the book is a deck of 75 original magic item cards, designed to bring treasure to life at the table. When you reward a player with an item, you can hand them the card to make it easier for them to know what their items do. This project is 100% human made with no AI-generated art. The DM’s Toolbox is built to help you spend less time preparing and more time creating unforgettable moments with your players.
Sounds like someone many folks can get behind, so go check it out!
